In the Pacific Ocean to the south-east of the Loyalty Islands on Monday was a powerful earthquake magnitude 6.9 points. As reported by AFP, referring to the U.S. Geological Survey, the epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 52 kilometers.
As established professionals, the epicenter of the earthquake was located at a distance of 334 kilometers from the city Tadine and 455 kilometers from the capital city of Nouma, New Caledonia.
Information about casualties and damage were reported. Warnings about the threat of a tsunami also did not come.
Recall that a magnitude 6 and above is considered to be already a strong earthquake that could cause significant damage and poses a serious danger, say seismologists.
